The market of Saint-Jean-de-Monts

Saint-Jean-de-Monts will be our starting point, with a large market in the historic town center. Not selling food, it offers clothing, decorations, and crafts in Place Yole. With its blue color scheme, nautical prints, and beach birds, you can't miss it: you're in the Vendée.

The market of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie

Just half an hour further on lies Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, with several markets open year-round. Whether at the Place du Vieux Port or Place Kergoustin, there's something for everyone. Breathe in the fresh sea air and choose the perfect fresh fish to cook. In summer, stroll through the night market from 8 pm to midnight – a delightful walk in the balmy summer atmosphere.

The market of Bretignolles-sur-Mer

We continue further south to Bretignolles-sur-Mer, where the market halls are the heart of the town center. In the town center, the market is held every Thursday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., year-round. In the summer, you can also find local produce at the Monday morning market in La Parée.

The market of La-Roche-sur-Yon

Let's head inland, 40 minutes away, to La Roche-sur-Yon and its central market halls. Every morning, from Tuesday to Saturday, local producers and artisans fill their stalls with regional products. The market of Les Sables-d'Olonne

Here is a charming market, the one in Les Sables-d'Olonne. A contender for the " Most Beautiful Market in France " award two years in a row, step inside the market hall, a two-story structure of yellow, blue, and black brick and metal. Every morning, except Mondays outside of school holidays, you'll find 50 vendors between the port and the beach offering a selection of local specialties. Mogette beans, samphire, préfou (a type of garlic bread), gâche (a type of brioche), and flan maraîchin (a type of flan) – you won't leave hungry.

The Talmont-Saint-Hilaire market

The next town is Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, where a small covered market with 11 producers awaits you. All year round, every day, in the town center, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. At Place du Payré, don't miss the covered market, also open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stock up on local products sourced directly from producers. A night market takes place throughout the summer, every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Port of Bourgenay.

The market in Jard-sur-Mer

Just ten minutes further on, you'll find a market you absolutely mustn't miss : the Jard-sur-Mer market, renowned for its quality products and bustling atmosphere. Food, clothing, decorations, plants, and more—no fewer than 150 vendors gather every Monday in the Place des Ormeaux for this unmissable market.

The Fontenay-le-Comte market

We finish with Fontenay-le-Comte, in the south of Vendée, in a market under the market halls on Saturday, from 8am to 1pm.

A true local institution, this event celebrates authentic gastronomy through stalls showcasing exquisite local and artisanal products. Between the aroma of Vendée brioche and the distinctive character of country ham, discover the best of the Marais Poitevin region in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, typical of this City of Art and History.
