Want to enjoy the pleasures of water in Vendée, but want a change from the sea? There are numerous freshwater lakes and swimming pools in the heart of the Vendée region. These are popular spots for families, as you'll find activities for all ages and great entertainment during the summer season, and sometimes longer. Here's a look at the Top 10 water parks, swimming pools, and leisure centers in Vendée!

1) O'Gliss Park

O'Gliss Park is a large water park located in the commune of Le Bernard, about twenty minutes from Luçon by car. It is located in the Marais Poitevin Natural Park. You'll enjoy its giant slides and its artificial sandy beach for relaxing. With its heated pool, supervised swimming area, paddling pool, and playground, families with young children are well-served.

2) Atlantic Wake Park

The Atlantic Wake Park is a natural setting at the mouth of the Lay River on the southern Vendée coast. It's located in the commune of L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer, just 5 minutes from La-Faute-sur-Mer. It's a favorite spot for sports enthusiasts. Here, you can enjoy board sports like wakeboarding, a surfing technique towed by a boat. You can also go waterskiing. And why not try kneeboarding, a technique of waterskiing on your knees? Inflatable structures are also available for warrior games and splash games.

3) The Atlantic Toboggan

If you're still undecided between freshwater and seawater, the Atlantic Toboggan is the place to go. This oceanfront recreation area in Saint-Jean-de-Monts features heated pools, a lazy river, a wave pool, and hot tubs. The slides are impressive and offer a thrilling experience.

4) The Aqua'Bulles aquatic center

Aqua'Bulles is a swimming pool located in Saint-Fulgent, in the Haut Bocage Vendéen region. It's the ideal place to teach your little ones to swim. There's even a " baby swimmer " activity for their first contact with water. It offers swimming lessons, as well as sports activities like aquabiking, Pilates, and water fitness. You'll get back into shape in a gentle way.

5) The Aqualonne Aquatic Center

Aqualonne is an aquatic center near Les Sables-d'Olonne. It will delight the whole family, with its paddling pools and slides. Children can discover swimming while having fun. It's very convenient for those who may be intimidated by their first dips in the sea.

6) The Pays de Pouzauges Aquatic Center

The Pays de Pouzaugues Aquatic Center is divided into three large areas to meet all your needs. 25-meter-long sports pools allow you to train and beat your own records. The water park is a great place to have fun with the family. The Nordic pool is ideal for getting back into shape.

7) Cape Town Aquatic Complex

The Le Cap Aquatic Complex is located in the heart of Vendée, in La-Roche-sur-Yon. Located near the city, it allows residents and tourists to enjoy the pleasures of water in an urban setting. Its steep-sided river is very unique. There's also an aquatic wellness and fitness area.

8) The Remblai swimming pool

The Remblai swimming pool was built on the oceanfront in the seaside resort of Les Sables d'Olonne. It's a wellness center with a large lap pool, spa, jacuzzi, and hammam. A fitness room is also available for you to work out before relaxing in the water. Don't miss a drink on the terrace bar, enjoying the incomparable ocean view.

9) The Chassenon Lake Leisure Area

The Lac de Chassenon Leisure Centre is located just 20 minutes from Vouvant, on the edge of the Marais Poitevin Natural Park. This leisure center boasts a natural setting conducive to relaxation. For families, there are all sorts of activities: water slides, a swimming and paddling pool area, a bar, and a terrace by the sandy beach.

10) The Bretonnière swimming pool

In the Haut Bocage Vendéen, in Montaigu, the Bretonnière swimming pool offers a beautiful swimming pool. There is also a leisure and games area, a Pentagliss, as well as a counter-current river to increase the sporting difficulty. After the sport, comfort! It's time to enjoy the sauna and hammam.
