      A bit of history

Avrillé is particularly known for its 9 megaliths, the most famous of which is the menhir of Camp de César. The latter, listed as a historical monument, is the largest menhir in Vendée. It bears witness to an important Neolithic past.

Children and puzzle lovers will be happy to visit this unique place, transformed into the Château des Aventuriers, for a day of adventures in the heart of the region's history. A great way to have fun and learn.

The town centre of Avrillé retains an authentic charm with its old stones and traditional buildings: the Saint-Pierre church, the Halles…

Finally, don't forget to go and admire the wash houses, fountains and other elements of the local heritage of the town.
