    • The Marais Poitevin Regional Natural Park is a natural area of more than 100,000 hectares, which stretches delicately between the Atlantic coast and the Poitevin lands, offering a unique getaway where tranquility reigns supreme. Between the department of Vendée and Deux-Sèvres, it is the second largest wetland in France.

The Marais Poitevin is divided into 2 landscape typologies: The dried marshes and the wet marshes, nicknamed the "Green Venice". The latter seduces visitors with its complex network of canals , conches and marshes forming an aquatic labyrinth of great beauty. Aboard a traditional boat, let yourself be carried away by the magic of the landscapes, where the green banks mingle with the reflections on calm waters. Nature lovers will be delighted by the richness of the fauna and flora, with a myriad of migratory birds, fish and aquatic plants that populate this unique ecosystem.

The charming villages dotted around the Marais Poitevin add a cultural dimension to this getaway. Explore Maillezais and its Abbey, which takes you back to monastic life. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the great tourist sites of the Marais Poitevin. Le Mazeau is just as charming to discover, with its shops including a bakery, a wine cellar, a grocery shop and even a restaurant. Have a picnic by the water before taking to the water in a boat, canoe or paddle. The Marais Poitevin is full of surprises. Don't hesitate to book at the Embarcadère de la Venise Verte for an incredible day out with passionate guides. Slightly further south, Damvix is just as pleasant, with its towpath that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback, along the Sèvre Niortaise and the Venise Verte. Continue on to the Damvix honey factory, where you can enjoy a sweet local product by the water's edge.

Lovers of outdoor activities will also find what they are looking for in this preserved region. Hiking trails through meadows and woods offer breathtaking panoramas, while cycle paths wind through the picturesque landscapes. Whether for a relaxing day or an extended stay, the Marais Poitevin offers an enchanted break.
