Le Chocolatier Sablais, a story of passion and transmission

The love of chocolate is what brings Ségolène and Stéphane together, two passionate artisans behind the wonderful adventure of Chocolatier Sablais. It all began in 2000 when they accidentally discovered an old handwritten recipe book in their old tea room on the embankment, a tome of delicacies just waiting to be explored. Without further ado, Stéphane embarked on a BEP (vocational certificate) in Pastry and joined Ségolène to realize their dream in 2006 under the name Chocolatier Sablais. Delighting more and more gourmets, they expanded their range over the years, also obtaining IFS certification in 2015, an internationally recognized guarantee of quality and safety. Immersed in chocolate since their earliest childhood, it was only natural that their children Arthur, Capucine and Juliette joined them to promote traditional Vendée know-how.

Want to know more about the history of this family brand? Take advantage of the summer and school holidays (except February and Christmas when the artisans are very busy) to dive into the heart of chocolate during a guided tour. The tour opens the doors of the entire establishment to discover the creation of gourmet delights from confection to packaging, with exciting stops depending on the workshop. Nougats, confectionery, biscuits or fruit pastes, the molding and manufacturing take place before your eyes while the artisans explain each stage of production. This is the opportunity to ask all your questions! After the tour, return to the store to find all the favorite products, ending with a step adored by young and old alike: the tasting.

Info : 45-minute tours are available in the morning at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., Monday to Friday, for groups of up to 20 people. Reservations can be made by phone at the shop (02.51.22.51.32) or at the Les Sables-d'Olonne Tourist Office.

You'll melt with pleasure in front of so many sweet delights ! From the smallest rock to the box filled with sweets, each creation is the result of a unique know-how that delights the taste buds. Take your time to find your favorite bite, the shop is open from Monday to Friday so you can enjoy it at any time of the day ( closed between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. ).

• Chocolates packaged in bags or cubes with delicious fritters, mendiants, nougatine, orangettes, pistoles, rochers, pralines... Cocoa pleasures in white, dark or milk chocolate sometimes enhanced with dried fruits.

• Soft, buttery biscuits in the form of cookies, discs or wafers, plain or flavored with caramel, chocolate, coconut, strawberry, almonds, etc.
• Crispy chocolate and caramel sand roses
• Fruit jellies with a variety of deliciously sweet fruity flavors
• Soft and chewy nougats with pistachio, almond or caramel
• Marshmallow teddy bears in dark or milk chocolate to bring back childhood

A variety of gift boxes and gourmet boxes are also available on the store's shelves to bring back a souvenir to share, or to offer a gourmet gift at any time of the year.

Keen to offer you a unique taste experience, Ségolène and Stéphane focus on quality products with the greatest loyalty. The chocolate at the heart of the creations is pure cocoa butter from the same supplier as when they started in 2006, thus guaranteeing a consistency of taste and aroma with each tasting. Just as attentive to the selection of all the ingredients, they choose with the greatest care the hazelnuts, almonds, orange peel, nougatine, pistachios and other dried fruits that make up the recipes. More than just a simple treat, the Chocolatier Sablais concocts delicious artisanal creations to be enjoyed without moderation.

• At Easter, discover the great classics with molds of chickens, rabbits, eggs, fish and various animals, but also the creations of the moment which change every year.
• At Christmas, decorated baubles, fir trees, Santa Clauses, deer and penguins are in the spotlight, as well as numerous gourmet gift boxes.

Available in major retail stores, their gourmet creations are a hit and are even exported to Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
