Arundel Tower and Saint-Clair Castle Castles / Towers / Forts in Les Sables-d'Olonne

The Arundel Tower and the Saint-Clair Castle are located in the heart of the seaside resort of Les Sables-d'Olonne, on Place Maraud. It is a fortified bastion from the 15th century, topped by a stone tower. Although bombarded by the Dutch in the 18th century, it has been totally restored and is today in perfect condition. The castle has especially lived through the Wars of Religion. The visit allows you to access a large part of the buildings. It houses a Maritime Museum, with very realistic ship models. You can climb to the top of the tower, which offers a 360° panorama.
