Brioches Fonteneau Traditional brioches for special events in Vendée

Brioches Fonteneau is first and foremost a family story that began in 1977 in the heart of the Vendée countryside, in a bakery. They quickly began supplying their brioches and gâches (a type of brioche) to supermarkets in the Vendée and Nantes regions. Over the years, the family-run SME has grown and continued to innovate. Today, the second generation has taken over the company with a team of over 300 employees across three production sites.

The traditional brioche dance is a must at Vendée weddings. These round brioches come in two sizes, 6kg or 12kg. They are carried on wooden stretchers with four handles and are most often presented by the godparents. Everyone then starts dancing in a farandole under the brioche! Afterward, the brioche is shared and enjoyed by all the guests: 60 slices for the 6kg and 120 slices for the 12kg.

There are obviously other traditional brioches such as the 2.5kg or the Label Rouge ! Brioches Fonteneau continues to perpetuate this Vendée tradition by offering wedding brioches traditionally baked in a stone oven.
