  I had a wonderful weekend at the Hameau de Vouvant, in a village with incredible charm. I'll be back.

  We stayed for 4 days with several friends. Our apartments were super clean, spacious, and very well-equipped. The only downside was that there was a lingering smell of damp. The restaurant staff was great, and a special mention goes to Malik, who was attentive and always available.

  Very clean bungalow, very well designed, everything on site, but the exterior is poorly maintained. And it smells very damp! Too bad they didn't warn us that the restaurant was closed, so no meals were possible the evening of arrival, no breakfast possible... we had to wait until Friday evening!! The pool was closed, a very unpleasant surprise, no warning either!! That would be the minimum anyway for the price!!! Well, we sunbathed on the terrace in the full sun that morning, great!! Except for the gardener right in front, 5 meters away, who looks over every 5 minutes; that morning, there was no way to be at all undisturbed! Given the state of the exterior, he had plenty of work to do other than under our terrace, especially since there were only 5 or 6 bungalows rented. As for the restaurant, open on Saturday evening, great, we're going to have a nice meal with 15 people! Well, no! Minimalist plates. For them, a sea bass fillet is barely 7cm x 3cm on a bland purée (all frozen). It tastes like water. Oops, where are the vegetables? Under the sea bass, a puddle and a small slice of carrot. So, 1 carrot for 15 for €18!! Beef fillet with half a potato. A word of advice: get a starter or two. Dessert is a small, not-so-homemade soft cake. A cappuccino, like a café au lait, arrives directly mixed with the coffee. My neighbor gets an apple crumble, without the crumble, oops! 10 people unsatisfied, service bordering on pleasant. Okay, a table of 15, but still, there were fewer than 10 other customers in the restaurant; they weren't overwhelmed. A big slap in the face. The restaurant is magnificent, but that's not everything!! Luckily, we had a delicious brioche waiting for us at the gîte!! Fortunately the sun was out and the kindness and goodwill of Gildas who does what he can is not to blame.
