Natur'Zoo, amazing animals to discover in Mervent

Don't worry, we're not going to list the more than 300 animals housed in this superb animal park, but simply tell you about the richness of the fauna valued by passionate teams. Vast and verdant, the park presents you with around sixty different species, whether furry, feathered, horned, beaked, aquatic or even terrestrial, magnificent animals that invite you to experience an extraordinary journey !

Mammals

These warm-blooded animals have lungs and can nurse their young in the case of females. They are classified into three categories at Natur'Zoo:

• Carnivores such as cheetahs, Angolan lions, Arctic wolves or African wild dogs
• Primates such as brown lemurs, ring-tailed lemurs or red ruffed lemurs
• Others less typical like damalisques, giraffes and watussis

A mini farm also brings together donkeys, goats, guinea pigs and alpacas.

Reptiles

This scaly vertebrate is an animal that crawls with or without legs. At Natu'Zoo, you can admire green iguanas, brown pythons, star tortoises, spurred tortoises, and red-eared sliders— incredible species, each with its own unique characteristics.

The birds

These warm-blooded, feather-covered animals have beaks and wings that allow them to fly, depending on the species. There are many of them to be found in the Mervent Animal Park, including parrots, swans, flamingos, cranes, and ostriches. Take the time to observe their colors and listen to their songs !

Descriptive sheets installed in front of each area of the park allow you to understand the animals' lifestyle and their behavior.

Natur'Zoo, a park committed to respecting animal welfare

What a pleasure to see the animals evolving in complete serenity ! It must be said that each resident is pampered with special attention at the Natur'Zoo animal park, a site dedicated to welcoming its protégés in a setting adapted to their need for freedom. Several areas are thus provided:

• The lemur sanctuary, covering 1 hectare (the largest in Europe), is a vast green and shaded expanse where the animals roam freely.
• Giraffes and cheetahs are perfect reproductions of African plains.
• The Iberian lynx enclosure is the largest in Europe and the only one outside the Iberian Peninsula (Spain/Portugal).

Each year, the park expands and improves the living conditions of the animals housed in the heart of the Mervent forest. Stay tuned so you don't miss out on new developments !

Natur'Zoo, fun and educational activities loved by young and old in Mervent

This animal park in Vendée offers you the opportunity to experience a memorable day with family or friends, with numerous activities and workshops on offer. One of the park's key events remains the feeding tour, a unique moment of exchange and sharing between visitors and keepers, but also with the animals who are delighted to enjoy their meal before your astonished eyes. This gourmet break is an opportunity to ask questions about your favorite animals, and to observe them up close . Are you won over? Become the keeper for the day ! Child, teenager or adult, make your dream come true alongside passionate professionals who accompany you to their residents for a few hours of happiness. The Family VIP option allows you to share this intense moment with your family, while the colo natur' option is a 3-day immersion for 8-15 year olds.

The feeding tour is available between April and September, on weekends, public holidays and every day during school holidays in zones A and B.

Natur'Zoo, a comfortable animal park for a wonderful day out in Vendée

With family, lovers or friends, you will love exploring this perfectly designed animal park. The shaded paths are pleasant in the height of summer, while the clean and easily accessible toilet facilities allow you to take a break at any time of the day. Punctuate your visit with time to play and share with the children; a playground is open next to the wallaby park, while the mini farm allows you to pet donkeys, goats and guinea pigs. Feeling peckish? Head to the picnic areas for lunch outdoors, or visit the park's refreshment points for a much-appreciated gourmet break:

• The snack bar, open during the April holidays, weekends in May and June, and every day in summer, offers paninis, sandwiches, hot dishes, desserts, and drinks.
• The Giraffe Cabin, open daily in summer, offers cold drinks, ice cream and sweets.

Sit back and enjoy a well-deserved break. Microwaves and high chairs are also available.

More than just an animal park, Natur'Zoo de Mervent is a true refuge for rare, little-known, or endangered species, a committed player in the protection and preservation of species that plays a very important role in raising awareness among all visitors. Natur'Zoo de Mervent is also a member of the AFdPZ (French Association of Zoological Parks) and the EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums).
