The Communal of Lairoux

This vast area of 245 hectares is a real gem. These wet meadows, little modified by man, are home to exceptional biodiversity. Many birds find refuge there, especially in winter.

It is also, from spring, a place of grazing for cattle and horses, under collective management: the communales. It is a practice of communal grazing (animals belonging to several farms), which has its origins in the 12th century.

The marshes of the Lay Valley

Lairoux is bordered by the marshes of the Lay Valley, a unique ecosystem with breathtaking landscapes. You can observe a variety of flora and fauna there.
