About

  • English
    • Triaize is a commune of Vendée located in the Marais Poitevin. It is one of those municipalities of the retro-littoral, which are close to the ocean while being in the countryside. To reach the ocean, the nearest seaside resorts are L'Aiguillon and its peninsula, La Tranche-sur-Mer and Longeville further north. On the other side, Luzon is the most attractive tourist point. Fans of religious architecture will appreciate the unique characteristics of the bell tower of the Romanesque church of Triaize. With its triple bulge (the bell tower dates from 1771), it is elegant and hides a sumptuous frame, which has no equal in France!

Follow the "Sentier des Iris" to discover the Polders, land intended for growing cereals, which exist thanks to the techniques of draining the marshes, through water drainage channels. We come across Montagu's harriers and other ornithological species. An observation platform on the trail will delight wildlife enthusiasts.
