Directions Les jardins de William Christie - An exceptional location in the Vendée region

About

  • English
    • In 1985, William Christie fell in love with an estate in Thiré, in the Vendée region, where he set about creating a garden from scratch. Since then, it is not just one garden, but a succession of spaces as remarkable as they are eclectic that he has imagined over the years, in a process of continuous creation.
Inspired by the art of gardens as it reached its peak in France and Italy in the 17th and 18th centuries, the Gardens of William Christie also tend to highlight the beauties of the Vendée landscape, by bringing together many trees and plants specific to this region.

Today recognized as a " Remarkable Garden " and listed in the Inventory of Historical Monuments, this exceptional 12-hectare site is at the center of the Arts Florissants project.
