Passage du Gois

The passage of Gois is a path which connects the island of Noirmoutier to Fromentine. The particularity of this path is that it is submersible. It can only be discovered at low tide, thus offering you unusual photos. It is a favorite site for shore fishing. Here's something to keep the children busy, while you take your most beautiful shots on this ephemeral passage, with the island of Noirmoutier and the ocean in the background!

The Ladies' Beach on the island of Noirmoutier

The beach cabins remind us of the time of the first sea baths in the 19th century, when holidaymakers flocked to the Vendée beaches to enjoy these well-deserved holidays. Aligned, side by side, they border certain Vendée beaches and give them an old-fashioned charm, but so charming. They are also very practical and bring a lot of comfort to tourists. The most beautiful are probably those on the Plage des Dames on the island of Noirmoutier, but you will also find some in Les Sables-d'Olonne. Each his own…

Les "Carrelets"

Les Carrelets are fishermen's huts, perched above the sea or a canal in a salt marsh. Some are still in operation and the traditional "carrelet fishing" is practiced there, others have been converted into a cozy little nest for a getaway or a moment of relaxation by the ocean. They are typical of the maritime heritage of the Vendée. You will take photos of very interesting perspectives.

The creeks of the Ile d'Yeu

Taking a tour of the island by the GR80 path will allow you to see the beautiful coves and small fishing ports. It is a charming facet of the island, to explore on foot or by bike. You will see beautiful views of the ocean, with all these small pleasure boats. A real palette of colors, which brightens up the blue canvas of the ocean.

Pointe d'Arcay

Pointe d'Arçay is the end of the Aiguillon peninsula, formed by the mouth of the Lay. It is a landscape of great beauty, between land, sea and river, in the town of La-Faute-sur-Mer. It is also a very rich biotope, protected by the Casse de la Belle Henriette Nature Reserve. It is a favorite site for photography, whether you are a fan of panoramic views or snapshots of wildlife.

The Coast of Light

There are times when the nickname of the Vendée coast, the “Côte de Lumière” takes on its full meaning. They are called the golden hours or the blue hours, at sunrise and sunset. These are moments of grace, precious because they are fleeting… Then the magic works all over the coast and the patient photographers will be rewarded with true natural works of art.

The Marais Breton Vendéen

The Marais Breton Vendéen is a very authentic territory, steeped in tradition. You can visit an old bourrine, discover the trade of salt worker and walk the paths, which border the canals. On these lands, calm and serenity reign. It is a restful place conducive to this hobby of patience that is nature photography. Ornithology enthusiasts will make beautiful photographic shots!

The Mélusine Tower in Vouvant

In the village of Vouvant, the Mélusine Tower is a legendary site, linked to the Lusignan family and through them, the famous fairy builder Mélusine. The tourist office will allow you to climb to the top of the tower, between April and October. From this former watchtower, you will have a remarkable 360° view of the medieval town of Vouvant and the surrounding area.

Mervent Forest

The Forest of Mervent is one of the largest forest estates in the Vendée. It is a site very popular with families because you can practice all kinds of activities there: hiking, cycling, horseback riding... The oak wood is crossed by the river La Mère and there is a lake, equipped with a nautical and aquatic leisure base. Fishing is also possible here. While the children are having fun, you will have plenty of time to isolate yourself for a nature photo report and to surprise some wild animals.

The Marais Poitevin

How not to mention the Marais Poitevin among the photo spots of the Vendée. This regional natural park enjoys a reputation that is second to none. Lose yourself on the paths bordering the canals that criss-cross it, to unearth a few nooks, well hidden in the vegetation and wait... There is no doubt that you will see a few coypus and or even otters appear, if you are lucky! As a couple or as a family, a boat trip is a must.
