- Le Merval is a 3-star campsite with 71 pitches. It is a quiet and relaxing campsite. We are looking for a balance between entertainment and quiet moments. You can swim in the heated swimming pool, play a game of pétanque, have a drink on the snack terrace and come and have fun during our weekly dance evening.
  
  The campsite is ideally located for nature lovers thanks to the Aiguillon bay, the Venise Verte or the Mervent forest - for strollers who will take advantage of the outdoor markets (one every day) or do shopping under the arcades of La Rochelle - for swimming enthusiasts who will choose the large and beautiful Vendée beaches.

We arrived here for one night only, and was made most welcome by the hosts. The pool was a god send in the middle of the heatwave. The bar did cold beer and delicious food. The washing facilities were clean and tidy. We left the next morning happy and contented bikers.

Nice campsite, quieter and more basic than the others in the coast. There is a bar/restaurant serving a good selection of beers and burgers, chips etc and is open late. WiFi is free and good. Toilets are basic without plugs. Bread and pastries can be ordered and arrive at 7:30-45 in the morning at the reception (not at the Bar).

My family had a lovely break at this campsite situated near to Later Rochelle. The hosts Silvie and Damien were very welcoming and ensured we were comfortable. The dinner and dance was very traditional and so much fun for the whole family and our children aged 10 and 8( boys) loved the pool.
